October 2019 Calendar of Activities



Below is the full-month schedule for the October 2019 Institute. This will begin with a grand opening ceremony and a GLPI orientation at 4:00 pm on September 29th (Sunday) and will end with a closing ceremony and awarding of certificates at 4:00 pm on October 25th (Friday). Participants are expected to arrive between 12:00 noon and 2:00 pm at the MIPAREC Conference Center on September 29th (Sunday) for registration and check-in, and depart from the venue at the end of month-long training after breakfast on October 26th (Saturday).


Each week will start with the opening of the course modules on Monday mornings, and will end with the closing activity and evaluation on Friday afternoons. During Wednesday afternoons, participants take a break from course work and classroom discussions and are given the opportunity to visit field sites to learn from actual program experiences related to the course learnings. During weekends, learning tours or forum will be organized during Saturdays and personal or rest time will be provided during Sundays. 


Course modules run from Mondays through Fridays. Breakfasts are served at 7:30 am and morning prayers start at 8:00 am, after which, course work starts at 8:30 am and ends at 4: 30 pm, with coffee and lunch breaks in between. Dinners are served at 7:30 pm. Each day therefore usually follows the following time schedule, and participants are requested to observe the time promptly:



Different classroom and field activities are organized by GLPI to give more opportunities for teambuilding, experiential learning, and community immersions. Each year, the list of activities organized by GLPI varies, but usually, it includes the following, among others:
